This CD contains traditional and specially composed songs designed to enhance your child's self esteem, creativity, imagination and love of learning through play. Children learn through play. Their play is governed by an insatiable curiosity, a sense of wonder and a desire to explore their world. Children do not just play. They display a creative flexibility to live in and through their playing. Play enable them to explore the known and the unknown. As Jon-Roar Bjorkvold states "Song is an auditory form of play" and is an essential element in helping the child cross the bridge between reality and the exciting world of their imagination. This CD incorporates songs about self, body-awareness, nature and the environment, shapes, colours, numbers, the alphabet, and simple percussion instrument songs for young children to play along with. All of the songs have been used with young children. The pace and pitch of the songs have been designed to enable children to participate and enjoy each activity. Parents and Care-givers who sing, dance, play and listen to music with their children awaken a lifelong interest and love of music and help their children associate music with comfort, love and security.

Congratulations on another great children's Cassette. All of the arrangements are lovely. There's so much music on the tape!. Instruments, styles, texture, dynamics, language, natural bird song you've covered all the elements of music so beautifully. You do such wonders with the old traditional songs. I love the male voice with the children's voices &endash; it gives the music such a family feel. We love dancing to "Listen to the Rain" and "Higgledy Piggledy Pop" is hilarious. Andrew giggles and enjoys the "Tummy Song". We enjoy playing the percussion instruments to "My instruments will talk to you" and we all adore "Skinnymarinky".
