ECCPA 2005 the ninth Early Childhood Conference of Performing Arts Learning for Living through Music, Dance and Drama CALL FOR PAPERS Presented by VOSA -Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association Endorsed by aMuse - Association of Music Educators (Vic.)

The Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association invites music, dance and drama educators working in the early childhood area (up to 8 years) to submit an application to present a Workshop/Paper at the ninth Early Childhood Conference of Performing Arts to be held in early 2005.

WORKSHOPS

Workshop sessions in the field of interest to Early Childhood Performing Arts educators are invited. Sessions are to be congruent with the conference theme of 'Learning for Living Through Music, Dance and Drama' Workshops will be 75 minutes duration (1 1/4 hours) and should include the active involvement of participants. Some sessions may be selected as repeats or 'all in' sessions. Workshops will attract a fee of $100 (plus GST if applicable) which includes up to 4 pages of notes for the conference handbook.

PAPERS

Papers on any aspect of music education congruent with the conference theme of 'Learning for Living Through Music, Dance and Drama' are invited. Presentations will be of 15 minutes duration. There will be a 10-15 minutes discussion time at the end of the session. Papers will attract a fee of $50 (plus GST if applicable) which includes up to 2 pages of notes for the conference handbook.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

Submit the following:

• 3 different topics with a short abstract/description (maximum 100 words) of each in order of preference
• Contact details (including full name, address, phone, fax and email details)
• A current curriculum vitae (up to 50 words) including membership details of any Orff Association
• A list of any special equipment or facilities required for your presentation
• If you have not presented at an ECCPA or VOSA/ANCOS conference before, please list the name, phone and email details of 2 referees.

The deadline for proposals is 30 July 2004 to allow for the preparation of brochures and advertising of the conference.

Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible but no later than end-August 2004.

Pease note that:

• All presenters will receive free registration, meals and conference notes for the day/s of their presentation/s. Please note that all non-main presenters are required to pay their own expenses, including travel, accommodation and meals that are not included in the registration.
• Late proposals will be forwarded to the 2006 Conference committee.
