Living Song is a community singing group attached to the Livingstone Community House in Ivanhoe directed by Christoph Maubach. The group researches, practices and performs songs that offer riveting rhythms and hauntingly beautiful melodies and harmonies. The materials are drawn from a number of different cultures. Living Song sings African, Brazilian, Irish, French and Swedish music and the group is always ready to expand their multicultural repertoire.
The Singsations - formed in 2003, a new adult singing group run by Susie Davies-Splitter in Elsternwick, for people who 'simply enjoy singing' featuring an eclectic mix of original and classic tunes from pop to folk to jazz, some acapella, some with guitar, some with tuned and untuned percussion, movement, dance or actions.... and all with a sense of fun!
Persephone - 5 voice women's A'capella group. Put together 5 women from varied backgrounds who live in the hills, and who enjoy singing and harmonizing, and you have Persephone. We sing a variety of music, thoroughly enjoying music as diverse as classical, contemporary, world music, jazz and afro -american gospel. Our love of singing is communicated through this variety, as well as our finely tuned harmonies, vocal blending, diverse arrangements, and our lively and accessible presentation.
