Tertiary Orff Schulwerk Training in Victoria

Victorian music educators are in the unique position of having the choice of two streams of Orff Training.

The Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association, and the Institute for Orff Studies at the Australian Catholic University both offer quality training in Orff Music and Movement Training.

Q: "Am I eligible to study the Graduate Certificate Orff Music Education?"

A: "Normally, intending students hold a recognized education degree or a recognized degree in a non-education area plus a diploma in education."

Q: "I have not studied for several years, I have a three year arts degree and have I raised two children and I have taught the Piano at home for 14 years. Am I eligible to study the Graduate Certificate Orff Music Education?"

A: "Quite likely you will be able to gain entry into this course. You need to apply via SPECIAL ENTRY. This course serves those who apply themselves with enthusiasm and diligence to the Orff Approach that is steeped in experiential learning. The course does NOT guarantee you a position in a school."

Q: "I am an early childhood teacher, three year trained and together with others I run a Kindergarten and Early Childhood Centre. I am responsible for all the music education aspects in the centre and I like to further my skills and understanding in creative music education for children.
